Get Involved Column by Deko-Get involved in your Community

Hey V.I.T.s,

Well I am not an avid reader of "Teen Vogue," but you know who is...Posh. She gave me this article and I thought I might pass this on to you. I do love this article! Great job to Teen Vogue.

Ways we can get involved and make a difference in our community...

Green Thumb
Start a community garden in your area, or talk to your teachers about starting a gardening program at your school.

Bake Off
Coordinate a bake-sale fund-raiser at your school

Pen Pal
If your school lacks a newspaper or literary magazine, be your own editor in chief and start one. Get submissions from student writers and print the issue on donated paper or post it online.

Pet Smart
Many animal shelters in your community need volunteers to walk the dogs.

Fashion Revolution
The next time you clean out your closet, donate the clothes to kids who are in need. Check out Central Valley Attitude. This website is the children of dekoposh, Inc., they have a program called "Al Rescate" (to the rescue) where they gather items for farm laborers and donate to their family.
