For the second consecutive year, Save the Children has beenselected as one of the non-profit organizations that willbenefit from FOX's Emmy Award-winning charity event Idol GivesBack. The show will air this Wednesday, April 9 from 7:30-10:00 p.m.ET/PT on FOX. Last year, Save the Children's programs in the United States andAfrica received $14.5 million as a result of Idol Gives Back. This year's event, which will feature international artists andsports figures like Bono, Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus, Eli and Peyton Manning, and Mariah Carey, will benefit children participatingin Save the Children's U.S. programs. American Idol star and Grammy Award-winning producer RandyJackson had the opportunity to see Save the Children's work inthe United States firsthand during last year's Idol Gives Backfilming. Jackson returned to his home state of Louisiana to tourSave the Children's programs for children impacted by HurricaneKatrina, and the trip inspired him to become Save the Children'sfirst-ever United States Programs Ambassador, working to raiseawareness of America's children living in poverty.
