What Lies Ahead-Life After College

Hey everyone!! My name is Stephanie and I'm the *new* Life After College column blogger!

I just wanted to start out my first blog by telling y'all a little about myself and what to expect from me in blogs to come:

*As you can tell, I'll be using the word "y'all" a lot...I'm from Texas, born and raised in Austin, so I tend to use that word more often than grammatically appropriate.
*I'm 22...so I guess that makes me *old* ;-)
*I am a Senior at The University of Texas. I am currently (literally sitting here in class right now) in my VERY LAST CLASS as an undergraduate.
*I'll graduate in May with a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology. My minor is Classical Civilizations. I like really really old things. And mummies...I love mummies. Ancient Egypt/Archaeology is my specialty.
*I am still iffy on the subject of Graduate School. More about that later.
*I DO currently have a full time job. This will be key when I describe to you the difference between a "job" and a "career". Career = ultimate goal.

Those are just the basics. You'll learn more about me as I go, because what I want this column to be is an avenue to invite you along in my life up to graduation and after as I embark on my journey into what my mother calls "the real world". From the stressful last few months, to graduation, to student loans, to pros/cons and possibly applying to Grad school (and the GRE), to job searches and interviews, I hope to give you a better idea of what surviving life after college is like for the average graduate, and hopefully my learning experiences will make life a tiny bit less stressful for some of you!!

If you ever have any questions about college or about anything, don't hesitate to comment, e-mail, or @reply to me on Twitter (@Stephamus)!
