Sandra Bullock To Be Honored For
Charity Donations

Oscar winning actress Sandra Bullock is to be honored for her charitable donations to Warren Eason Charter High School which was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The 47-year-old actress donated $25,000 this year to the school and has been selected to be admitted into the 2012 Warren Easton Hall of Fame.
Bullock has a strong connection to the area – her adopted son Louis was born in the city, and in 2010 Bullock helped open an on-campus health clinic at the school after it sustained more than $4 million in damages in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
School board member Arthur Hardy previously praised Bullock’s philanthropy, saying, “She has been our angel. We love her”.
Well known for her philanthropy, Bullock previously donated $1 million on behalf of her family to the American Red Cross' Japan relief effort after the country was hit by an earthquake as well as $1 million to Doctors Without Borders to assist with helping Haiti following an earthquake in 2010.
The Hall of Fame is known for awarding more than $250,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors, providing the school with supplies and equipment, and giving faculty cash awards.
The 20th Annual Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place on May 18 in Easton’s auditorium. During the ceremony, $53,000 in scholarship money will be handed out to Easton students.
