Butterfly Ball Raises £1.5 Million For Charity

HRH Princess BeatriceRod Stewart and Sir Bruce Forsyth were among the guests at a glamorous charity ball in London last Thursday which raised over £1,500,000 for national charity, Caudwell Children.
The charity, which provides practical and emotional support for disabled children and their families, hosted the Diamond Butterfly Ball at Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park and over 600 guests enjoyed a glamorous evening of entertainment and fundraising, which culminated in an exclusive performance by singer, Gary Barlow.
The evening’s auction, which was hosted by best-selling author, Jeffrey Archer, raised an amazing £1,500,000 for the charity founded by the entrepreneur and philanthropist, John Caudwell.
Proceeds from the event will be used to transform the lives of disabled children living in the UK. Since 2000 the charity has provided over £20million worth of support and helped thousands of families from right across the country.
Other celebrity guests included Peter Andre, Amy Childs, Marcus Wareing, Anthony Head and Sinitta. The evening was hosted by Jonathan Wilkes.
Ahead of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, this year also saw a number of world-class athletes attend, including Mark Foster, Lee Pearson CBE, Derek Redmond and Jamie Baulch.
Charity Chief Executive, Trudi Beswick, said: “We are delighted at the overwhelming support we received from all of our guests here this evening. In the current economic climate this money is more important than ever and will help us touch the lives of thousands of children. I can’t thank everyone who donated tonight enough.”
