Nick Jonas Joins Friend Demi Lovato on 'X Factor'

"The X Factor" mentor Demi Lovato has recruited close friend Nick Jonas to join her for the judge's house round in the upcoming season. The Jonas Brother may still be in the running to become a judge for rival singing competition, "American Idol," but in the meantime, he's signed on to guest star on "The X Factor" to flex his judging muscles before "Idol" producers make a final decision.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Jonas will be joining Lovato at her home when she chooses four of the acts she mentored to go on and compete against the top 16 contestants. On Monday, Aug. 27, it was revealed that Lovato will be mentoring solo singers aged 12 to 16, which will definitely be a bonus for both her and Jonas, as they both started their careers at a young age.

The two have known each other since 2007, when she starred alongside him and his brothers in the Disney Channel movie "Camp Rock." The movie catapulted the singers to fame, which led to a sequel. Incidentally, Lovato also dated his brother, Joe Jonas, in 2010. Season 2 of "The X Factor" begins Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
