Jamie-Lynn Sigler Designs Charity Bracelets

It started with seven childhood friends. Now living in different cities across the country, they came together when one of their own was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of thirty-four. To show their love and support, the women each gave a gift of the heart. One made a mix tape; another, a photo collage. Holly Freeman was inspired to design a bracelet for her friends that symbolized the bond between them. Freeman, the cofounder of CJ Free Jewelry, a bead themed fine jewelry line, created a bracelet with seven 14K rose gold beads, one bead for each friend, threaded onto pink cord, the color that has long signified breast cancer awareness.
What began as a personal pursuit to help a friend in need has since evolved into a public initiative to combat cancer and other diseases that affect millions of people. Freeman and her business partner, actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, are both longtime advocates for a variety of non-profit organizations. Using their jewelry line to further their philanthropic passions was an easy decision to make. Teaming up this summer with the American Cancer Society to promote the charity’s biggest fundraising campaign, Relay For Life, with a purple beaded bracelet.
CJ Free Jewelry’s mission to fight back against cancer will continue to gain momentum. As October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the jewelry line is introducing this fall a pink-themed bracelet, thus bringing full circle Freeman’s own crusade to help those touched by breast cancer. Come December 2012, CJ Free will release a turquoise bracelet for ovarian cancer. Until each of these diseases are permanently wiped out, Freeman and Sigler will carry on in their quest to promote and support non-profit organizations that seek to raise greater cancer awareness and funds for medical research.
