Justin Bieber Lends Support To Bully Film

The Weinstein Company has announced that Justin Bieber continues to lend his support to the fight against bullying with use of his song “Born To Be Somebody” in BULLY’s newest TV spot.

The spot premiered on Fandango today, just days before the film is released wide with a PG-13 rating in cities all over the country, and will begin airing on TV today as well.

“My fans are always up for supporting a great cause. It’s one of the things I’m most proud of as an entertainer,” said Bieber. “I hope they see BULLY with their friends and help start the conversation so we can end bullying.”

“We’re honored that Justin has decided to support this film and the movement that surrounds it,” said TWC President of Marketing Stephen Bruno.

Bieber joins a long list of celebrities who have graciously supported the film’s mission and was one of the dozens of stars who helped #BullyMovie trend on Twitter recently raising further awareness as the film approached its release in theaters. Other celebrities have stepped out in their own ways to help get the word out including: Ellen DeGeneres featuring the families from the film on her show; Meryl Streep and attorneys David Boies and Ted Olson hosting an NYC screening; Victoria Justice, Giuliana Rancic and Joel McHale hosting the LA premiere; Anderson Cooper and Kelly Ripa hosting an NYC screening; Anderson Cooper hosting a town hall special on CNN to discuss bullying with Dr. Phil McGraw, Kelly Ripa and BULLY director Lee Hirsch; Tommy Hilfiger designing t-shirts; and many other supporters shooting PSAs. Companies including Bing and Twitter have partnered to help in the quest to reach as many parents, teachers and children as possible. And, in a move that inspired and rallied hundreds of thousands of supporters, Michigan high school student Katy Butler garnered more than half a million signatures on her petition to the MPAA on Change.org to lower BULLY’s R rating, which subsequently happened last week.

Efforts to pass the Safe Schools Improvement Act are also in the works after TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein’s recent meeting with Senator Bob Casey. This bill will amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to address and take action to prevent bullying and harassment of students.

BULLY leads all non-fiction films so far for 2012 with its strong opening weekend attendance.

Justin Bieber: I’m Just Trying to Make Selena Happy

That cute little guy we know as Justin Bieber isn't so little anymore. In case you haven't noticed, the Biebs, who turned 18 last month, is quickly becoming more mature, and seems to be making more sense almost every time he opens his mouth. The "Baby" singer shared some of his pearls of wisdom in a new interview with Seventeenmagazine.

First, Bieber spoke openly about his career, which only seems stronger after his successful holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, and his latest hit single, "Boyfriend." Although a lot of people have questioned whether the pint-sized pop star will be able to hold on to his fans as he ages, Justin doesn't sound worried about it at all. "A lot of times, when artists grow older, they lose their younger fans because they're just trying to get older fans," he reveals to the mag. "But if you try to make good music, then you'll just appease everybody. I just want to make music that's good for everybody."

The teen also doesn't mind if he does some good for others along the way. He's already launched the Believe Charity Drive to help kids with cancer and music education, and he's a major supporter of Pencils of Promise, a non-profit organization that supports local schools. Now he's doing his part to end world hunger. "Recently, there were so many things in my [concert] rider that went to waste, so I took a lot of things off my rider," Justin admits. "Every day we were buying all this stuff and it was just sitting there. I got rid of it. I didn't want to waste all the food."

Someone who's probably pretty pleased with the way Justin is turning out is his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, 19. The two appear to be going strong after more than a year together, but it doesn't sound like the pop star's anywhere near taking his gal for granted. "I'm just trying to make her happy, that's all," he says. "I think it's important to make all women feel like they're princesses, because every girl is a princess. I'm serious." Aw, sweet! We'll see if he still agrees with that statement after a few bad breakups...

No matter what happens, though, the Biebs says he's prepared, thanks to the talented man who discovered him, Usher. "From the beginning, he told me to put family first and you'll always succeed, because your family will never leave you," Justin explains. "He told me to always stay humble and never forget where I came from."

Sounds like good advice to me!

Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" Poised For Big Debut
He's beloved by millions of teenage girls who already think of him as their"Boyfriend," and now Justin Bieber's edgier track seems poised to be one of the teen star's biggest hits yet.
According to Billboard, the song, which dropped Monday, could sell upwards of 400,000 downloads in its first week, giving it a big push on next week's Billboard Hot 100 chart. This would give the singer his best sales week for a song to date in his career. His biggest thus far belongs to "Never Say Never," which moved 199,000 downloads in its first week, eventually peaking at #5 on the Digital Songs chart.
Based on the estimates for his Hot 100 debut (which takes into account radio airplay, sales and streaming data), Bieber could land in the top five going into next week. So far, his most ubiquitous track, "Baby," is also his highest debut on the Hot 100, having landed at #5 in 2010.
It seems that radio is also embracing the lead Believe single. While Bieber has always had a large fanbase and solid record sales, radio airplay has eluded him a bit. But Billboard further reports that this song could land him in a solid place on the Pop Songs top 10 based on early airplay. So far, he's only managed to land at #14 in 2009 with "One Time" and #16 with "Baby."
"Boyfriend" was co-produced and co-written by Mike Posner, who explained to MTV News that they always intended to make a song that would shift Bieber's career from tween heartthrob to legitimate pop star.
"I think our goal was to make something that me and my friends could listen to in the car," Posner explained. "I think we've all known Justin since he was 13, and that's not the kid I was in the studio with anymore. He's an 18-year-old. He skateboards with Lil Wayne and hangs out with Lil Twist. Those are his homies. And he listens to hip-hop and he's a really cool kid. He's not like a corny guy."

Justin Bieber: "I'm Loving and Patient" With Selena Gomez

Young love!

Justin Bieber may have just turned 18, but in a new interview with Radio Disney, he proves that he's wise beyond his brand-new "legally adult" status when it comes to knowing the key to a successful relationship.

"It's just about being honest with one another," he tells host Jake ofCelebrity Take with Jake about how he and his equally-as-famous love,Selena Gomez, maintain theirrelationship in the midst of Hollywood's stressors.

"You just have to be honest, that's the first thing, because if you're not honest, then the relationship is just not a good relationship. At the end of the day, your girl would appreciate you being honest more than lying to her and vice versa.

In her March interview with Cosmopolitan, Gomez, 19, showed that she and her beau's expectations line up with each other's. "If you're in love, you're in love to the fullest, and you just want to go to the movies, hang out, and be as normal as possible. I'm fortunate that I've found someone who has that philosophy."

Bieber and Gomez began dating in 2010 and have since been spotted packing on the PDA across the globe. In October, the Canadian crooner surprised the former Disney starlet by renting out an entire movie theater so the pair could watch Real Steel in private.

In "Boyfriend," Bieber debuts a more mature side of his musical career. The chorus of the first song off his forthcoming album, Believe, has the lyrics: "If I was your boyfriend, never let you go / Keep you on my arm girl, you'd never be alone / I can be a gentleman, anything you want / If I was your boyfriend, I'd never let you go / I'd never let you go"

Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" Track Is Super Hip Hop
The anticipation for Justin Bieber's brand-new single, "Boyfriend," which invades radio airwaves March 26, is building. Not only is the track earning early raves from radio jocks, but also the song's producer, Mike Posner.
During an interview last week with radio DJ Bootleg Kev, the R&B supertalent dished about his studio session with the Biebster for "Boyfriend," the lead single off the pop star's highly anticipated album,Believe. "I have Bieber's new single," Posner said. "I wrote and produced that with him. And wait 'til you hear the beat; you're going to flip. You're going to want to play this song. Yes, it's super hip-hop."
It was only a matter of time until the young Biebs also took his spitting skills to the forefront as Posner admits the 18-year-old superstar raps "a little eight bars" and offers some "crazy" singing afterward on the track. "That was our whole goal, was to make something that was hater-proof," he continued.
Asked about the star's work ethic, Posner revealed his hesitation, saying, "He's super talented. At first I didn't know what to expect because he's super young, but dude can write."
Baltimore radio host Mick Lee recently spoke about the track, noting the song's major transition from Bieber's previous material. "All I'm saying ... is wow ... so much different than his previous music," he gushed on the station's website. "The best way to describe it is a mix of Justin Timberlake 'Sexy Back' ... 'NSYNC 'Girlfriend' — And get this ... he raps ... best comparison is it sounds like 'Wait' by the Ying Yang Twins."

Justin Bieber meets with young girl battling cancer

A young girl battling brain cancer scored a coveted Valentine's Day date on Monday - with singer Justin Bieber.

The pop star flew Avalanna Routh and her family from Massachusetts to New York so that he could meet the 6-year-old.

Bieber learned of Routh's story after her mother started a "Get Avalanna to Meet Justin Bieber" campaign on Facebook, according to CBS affiliate WBZ-Boston. Routh is a huge fan of the pop star, and earned the moniker "Mrs. Bieber" after "marrying" him in a pretend ceremony last year.

Routh and Bieber played board games and ate cupcakes and candy during their visit. She even got to run her fingers through his famous locks, according to the report.

"That was one of the best things I have ever done," he tweeted. "She was AWESOME. Feeling really inspired right now."

Routh has been battling AT/RT since she was nine months old, WBZ-Boston reports. There is no known cure for the disease.

Justin Bieber Gets Studio Visit From Lil Wayne
Justin Bieber knows a thing or two about "swag," so it's no surprise that the one and only Lil Wayne visited the young star while he was deep in the recording process for his next album, Believe.

"Good time in the studio last night. back at it tonight. oh yeah...and big bro came thru...," Bieber tweeted, linking to a photo of him and Weezy chilling out and skateboarding together. In case his fans didn't get the message, he followed it up with another tweet and picture: "and when i say big bro i mean @ . #BELIEVE IT #family."
While it's unknown whether Wayne will appear on Bieber's album, a certain super-producer is definitely in the mix, according to another tweet: "in the studio with @ and the crew. #creating... got a lot of things i want to write about. ready to make music."
Bieber has said he hopes his new album will have a Justin Timberlake vibe, similar to what Timbaland created on FutureSex/LoveSounds.
And for those wondering how it all went in the studio, Bieber's longtime manager, Scooter Braun, filled fans in. "got great reports on the first night with @ and@timbaland," Braun tweeted. "Exciting stuff. heard YMCMB stopped by too. gonna be interesting."
Believe is set to drop later this year. Bieber has already worked with Black Eyed Peas mastermind will.i.am, who will reportedly produce a song for the album. Whether Weezy will have any part on the album, Bieber has said he's been in talks with other MCs, like pal Drake and Kanye West, to make appearances on the album.
"The only conversation we've had about Justin's album that we're about to do is, it's really important that it's the proper transition, because we've seen him [with] 'Baby,' now we're watching him grow up," vocal producer Kuk Harrell told MTV News. "And we can't just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There's a record in between."

Justin Bieber Fans Prepping Birthday-Themed Charity Single

Justin Bieber's fans are working to give back the same way the pop star readily does. Several of Bieber's biggest fan groups, as well as the non-profit Together We Rise and Brush Buddies (the makers behind the singing Bieber toothbrush), have all teamed up to work on a charity single.

"They're all working on pieces of the video and the lyrics. Right now, they're putting together videos and 'thank you's'. We're working on the back end," Danny Mendoza, President/CEO of Together We Rise, which focuses on helping foster children in the U.S, told MTV News about the project.

"It started with a young lady named Vivian, she runs the Justin Crew fan club and she approached it on Twitter. She approached it and she had a lot of fan support," he continued. "She took it upon herself to take a leadership role, and then she contacted me because she needed some guidance. We just decided we'll help you do it. Justin Bieber had tweeted about us in the past and helped us get some recognition, so it was a 'thank you' to him as well."

Proceeds from the song will go toward Bieber's Believe charity drive. It will drop in March, just in time for his 18th birthday on March 1. "I'm almost 100 percent positive that they know," he explained of Bieber's involvement in the project. "Justin Bieber inspired a lot of young people to give back. It's a 'thank you' for helping us and we want to give back in your honor."

Bieber is certainly not a newbie to the world of charity. Mendoza said that having a pop star like Bieber being so socially conscious has been incredible for the charities he helps bring attention to.

"He definitely has the right people around him ... They made it a priority that giving back is more. I think his relationship with [his manager Scooter Braun's brother] Adam Braun and his charity [Pencils of Promise], he was able to see hands on a lot of it.

After Bieber tweeted this week about the Trillium Gift of Life Network, theOntario-based organ donation network has seen registrations skyrocket to more than 1,200 people, four times the amount the network usually receives.

New Year, New Looks For Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez

So, it seems that both Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have decided it's time for a change.
Oh, don't worry--the supercouple is still together! The two teens just decided to switch up theirhairstyles, that's all...sorry if I upset anyone!
Justin Bieber
Bieber showed off a return to the original look he made famous--eye-skimming, swooping bangs--on Wednesday, during a visit to the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. While the change may seem subtle, it's a definite difference from the shorter look he's been sporting in past months.
Gomez, on the other hand, threw caution to the wind and went for a more dramatic transformation. While her beau was busy in Vegas, she dropped by her favorite salon in West Hollywood and added striking blue and purple extensions to her hair.

"Change is good," Gomez tweeted on Wednesday, along with a pic of her brightly colored locks. "LOVE."  Meanwhile, Bieber had no public comment on either his own or his gal pal's new styles.
Well, now, the verdict is up to you: Do you like Justin and Selena's new hairdos? Be sure to let us know!

Justin Bieber Talks Sex, Drugs and Turning 18

He may be on the brink of adulthood, but Justin Bieber isn't ready to let go of his past.
In V Magazine's spring preview issue, the 17-year-old singer admits that while "people need to know I'm not a kid anymore," he doesn't feel "completely grown-up" just yet. "I'm still learning."
Unlike so many teen singers before him, Bieber hopes to maintain his squeaky clean image for at least a few more years.
"I'm not going to try to conform to what people want me to be or go out there and start partying, have people see me with alcohol. I want to do it at my own pace," Bieber, who turns 18 on March 1, says. "I don't want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing. I'm into love, and maybe I'll get more into making love when I'm older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody."
The "Baby" singer -- who's been dating 19-year-old Selena Gomez for more than a year -- says he hopes to have a career similar to Michael Jackson.
"I want to be successful and be great at what I do. But eventually, I want to become the best at what I do," Bieber explains. "I want to be better than anybody who's ever done it. And in order to do that, I need to strive to be the best, be good to people and treat people with respect, and work as hard as I can. Because for me, I work so hard and this consumes my life -- it's not worth it if I'm not the best."
Despite his massive success, Bieber knows he's not beloved by everyone.
"When I was coming up, trying to get to where I am now, people were so happy for me. They were rooting for me. Now that I'm on top, everyone wants to bring me down. Everyone's trying to tug at me and take my spot," Bieber complains. "A lot of people say they hate Justin Bieber who haven't even listened to my music. They just hate the idea of me."

Daily Good Gossip

DoSomething.org Announces Top 20 Celebs Gone Good
DoSomething.org, one of the largest U.S. organizations that helps teens take action on causes they care about, released today its fourth annual ‘Top 20 Celebs Gone Good’ list.
Lady Gaga continues her reign as the star who uses her celebrity to do the most good. Known for her support of gay rights, AIDS, and poverty, she focused primarily this year on bullying, even taking her thoughts to the White House in December. She also announced the creation of her own charity, the Born This Way Foundation, which aims to empower youth and lead them to a brave new society where each individual is accepted and loved as the person they were born to be.
Making a meteoric rise to number two this year is Justin Bieber, up from number 10 last year. His fast rise is due to his prolific work with Pencils of Promise, an organization that builds schools in Laos and Guatemala. Justin is also a consistent supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, raised funds for charity with his fragrance and holiday album, and recently distributed $100,000 to Whitney Elementary School in Las Vegas.
“There are some interesting trends from this year’s list,” says Aria Finger, COO of DoSomething.org. “It’s dominated by young celebrities and we also see so many couples. Last year the list had its first power couple, Ashton and Demi, and this year there are a total of four couples. Doing good is definitely fun in groups.”
For the first time ever, DoSomething.org’s panel of social media and mobile experts incorporated Facebook voting to help them determine the impact of celebrities reaching an audience with their cause. The criteria stipulated giving money wasn’t enough to count as creating impact; instead, a celebrity needed to take an action others could emulate, like writing articles, building houses, or founding an organization. Facebook fans voted Sophia Bush as the first ‘Fan Favorite.’
The 2011 ‘Top 20 Celebs Gone Good’ list:
1. Lady Gaga
2. Justin Bieber
3. George Clooney
4. Will & Jada Pinkett Smith
5. Leonardo DiCaprio
6. Matt Damon
7. Ellen DeGeneres
8. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie
9. Dwight Howard
10. Demi Lovato
11. Shakira
12. Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore
13. will.i.am
14. Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert
15. Nick Cannon
16. Lea Michele
17. Daniel Radcliffe
18. Miley Cyrus
19. Coldplay
20. Taylor Swift
“There are a handful of other celebrities who just missed the cut-off this year,” notes Finger. “We look forward to seeing what they will do in 2012.”
To determine the rankings, DoSomething.org used its research team and an expert panel, who focused on three elements: popularity, influence, and impact. The first two were calculated using each celebrity’s number of Twitter followers and Facebook likes, as well as their IMDB Pro Scores, Billboard Social 50 ranking, and number of ChaCha inquiries.
