Posh Dorm Decor-Back to School

Hey V.I.T.s,

Well it is that time to start thinking about going to school. Another school year another adventure. It is all good, right? Today I bring you ideas for your dorm and/or small space to get organized for back to school!!

This is from WestElm, which I love and own many of their products. It is time to get that desk organized. Notice that this piece is not even a desk but it is turned into one, and I must say I love brown and orange.

Smart Storage. Take advantage of every inch and get yourself organized. Boxes and wire baskets will do wonders for you.

Oh yes, the closet. Get it back to school ready. Organize it and your life will be much easier in the morning, trust me!

Don't just throw all your stuff in a cabinet and shut the door. Oh, no no!!! Organize the inside of that cabinet with boxes, file containers, shoe boxes, and etc. You get the point. Don't you hate when you can't find something? My advise is to label all these boxes to.

OK, you are ready for school now! Have fun planning and organizing.

Posh Dorm Decor-Accessories and the love of Pillows

Hey V.I.T.s,

Posh Dorm Decor is all about accessories and the love of pillows. I just love pillows. You can make such a statement by just using pillows and it won't hurt the piggy bank either.

Aah...Pillows

Love all the pillows, and check out the other accessories, the rug, the vase, and the lamp!

More pillows, and don't forget to keep flowers and fruit in hour pad. Flowers make a statement and fruit makes a great center piece and you get to eat your center piece, I like that---double purpose.

If you love to read, you must have a chaise with lots of comfy pillow and a great lamp.


Don't forget to accessorize the top of furniture. Most of us have a small space we are dealing with, we need to take advantage of every inch.

Books and flowers! They go together so well, don't they. Beauty and success!

Group your collection together on shelves, you will make a big statement, your friends will love it!

I love this one, a checkered centerpiece with shaggy grass in it. Find a cool bowl and fill it up with something clever--this will impress your friends. Where did you ever think of that, they will say...shh it's our secret.

Posh Dorm Decor-Great Ideas

Hey V.I.T.s...

I am changing my Posh Dorm Decor to Friday instead of Wednesday. Two reasons...I have way too much going on during the week between dekoposh, Inc., swimming, guitar lessons, golfing, and being Deko's BFF. LOL That was reason number one the second reason is that if I give you these awesome Posh Dorm Decor Ideas on Friday, you might just take me up on them and re-design/decorate on the weekend. Now that would be cool!

Great idea guys...We are doing this right now at dekoposh, Inc. We will now have our own mail box and we are all personalizing it. How Posh is this?

Great green project. Take those soup cans and recycle them. Spray paint them your favorite color and use them as vases. Hang them on a wall like a gallery. Use them to store your pens and pencils. Oh and take your favorite pictures and transfer them on iron-on paper and iron them on white pillows.

Tired of your bed but can't afford a new one, try this. Use flat sheets and create a skirt and a slip cover to cover the head board.

Do you love letters? I do! Use them everywhere. Frame them, hang them, and make a collage of letters.
Letter's on your pillows and sheets, what a great idea! Have fun-go crazy :)

Posh Dorm Decor---The Girly Girl Room

Sorry, I am posting my Column late. I got caught up in swimming but I am back. Today I bring you the girly girl bedrooms. I feel like a girly girl so here you go...

For the country girl.

For those of you who have the pleasure of sharing your bedroom with your sister or roommate. So sophisticated. Lots of garage sale finds here.

For the tween girl. Finally, a big girls bed---dress it up with lots of slip covers to change the look.

Oh la la...bring the color in, don't be afraid.

I so love this, small room...no problem! Store your stuff above your bed!!

I bring you two of my favorite colors, Purple & Yellow! How Posh...haha

Posh Dorm Decor- Your Work Space

Hey V.I.T.s,

Today I bring you, your workspace. What a fun space to design. Get creative and organize your space. Make your workspace rock out for you!

Love this...for your dorm, great way to hide your workspace when your friends stop by and you have paper work all spread out on your desk. Close those fabric panels and nobody knows!

For the tweens that share a room. Great way to divide your space with a workspace in the center.

Need a quick spot to catch up on note taking and misc. to do items. Create a workspace in your small space tucked away but so fab.

For the kids, take advantage of that wall space with cork board and let them go crazy hanging all their art work.

Great way to be organized by placing a huge burlap bulletin board on your wall with all your things you need to do, your clock, your calender, and your favorite pictures.

In a small space it is so very important to be organized and don't forget about color. Color makes the world go around!

Posh Dorm Decor---The Bathroom

Heya...

Today I bring you your bathroom, your powder room! I hate cleaning this room but I love when it looks Posh! haha

For those small bathrooms with no storage here i a great trick. Use a chair that you paint to hold the towels...how smart!

Love this idea, use a coat rack to hang your towels. Great idea!

For the tween in your life. Go to PB Teen for all these products. It is bright and fun and will wake them up in the morning.

For those of you that are sophisticated, here you go. I love all the simple details here. Oh how I wished that I had an armoire in my bathroom that looked like this. Well maybe this will inspire you.

Posh Dorm Decor--The Color Purple

I love writing this Column, it brings me such pleasure...hope you enjoy it. Today I am showing you how to incorporate Purple in your decor, because I love Purple; who doesn't?

This is a well organized dorm with lots of accents of purple. The Sofa is a bed at night and a sofa during the day. Lots of great storage. Below are some great tips for you.

Purple in the powder room, how sexy! Little accents of purple bring life to the powder room.

Love this very clean bedroom. I have to say that this inspired me today, to make some changes in my room. This room could be put together just by going to flea markets, thrift stores, and garage sales. Love the color purple.

Posh Dorm Decor---Dress up your room with a Dresser

I am so back. Posh is in the house!! haha We have been so very busy at dekoposh, Inc. but we have oh so many special surprises for you. I can't wait to share all of them with you, I am so bad at keeping secrets so don't try to get them out of me. I also just really quickly want to give a shout out to all our tween/teen Column Bloggers. I love reading all your Column's each week...great information you are putting out!

OK, today I am writing about Dresser's. I was going through some tweeter messages the other day and came across this...

Do you know who is the proud owner of this dresser??? Well, it is Jennifer Stone! She just purchased this very cool dresser at a Flea Market. Very cool Jennifer, I like.

Dressers are one of the best design elements in your room. They serve as three purposes. Purpose 1-They hold all your stuff. Purpose 2-They add another design element to your space. and Purpose 3-What a great place to display your pictures, flowers, and/or your collectibles on top.

I hope I have inspired you to either go out and buy a dresser or spruce up the one you have.

Posh Dorm Decor--Design Elements

Hey there,

I have some fabulous pictures today for you on design elements. Never forget to include design elements in your apartment, bedroom, and/or dorm.


Mirrors say everything, they are very chic, elegant, and they make a bold statement! You can pick mirrors up everywhere, garage sales, flea markets, thrift stores, and/or department stores.

Lamp shades say everything...don't they? Get rid of those boring white lamp shades and re-cover your lamp shades yourself with some very posh fabric or just buy a decorative shade.

You must have glamorous looking throws, you never know who might stop by and hang out with you. You need to provide them with a glamorous blanket to keep warm if they decide to spend the night. When not in use the throws look so very chic in your space.

Posh Dorm Decor-Spring is here!

Hey V.I.T.s

I am so happy that Spring is almost here. We really had a late winter here in California...lots of rain, snow, and clouds. Don't forget to change the time on Sunday morning...Spring Forward!!
Well today I am bringing you some great pictures of flowers, yes Spring means flowers and what a easy way to dress of your bedroom, apartment, dorm, or small space.

Mixing Pink and Orange is my current favorite way to mix up colors!

What a great way to say Wow, welcome to my pad! Nice decorative pot with an array of beautiful flowers placed strategically inside!

Flowers and more flowers, lavender, green and rose colors all mixed together. Oh can't you just smell these?
What a great way to make an entrance...the use of columns with a pedestal full of flowers. Oh yeah, this says Spring.

Lastly, I just wanted you to know that big or small, you need flowers in your pad this spring, they smell great and they look fabulous. What a great way to spend a Spring afternoon, on your favorite chase, reading your favorite book, or twittering on your Blackberry because you are so addicted, and smelling the sweet smell of Spring flowers.
