Movie of the Week: X-Men Origins, Wolverine

It's....Thursday!
You know, the day after Wednesday and before Friday?
And starting this week, Thursday = Movie Mania! A new column all about "Cinematic Adventures", containing something along the lines of: movie reviews and recommendations, as well as a list of upcoming movies at the beginning of each month. So get pumped!

This week:

He’s ba-ck.
You know who I’m talking about: Rock solid biceps. Undying. Possesses Superman-like immortality with no known source of Kryptonite. Twelve-inch steel blades inserted between his fingers. Bad-boy attitude—utterly reckless with vengeful tendencies. Insanely attractive in that scruffy-looking, wickedly-grinning, motorcycling-riding, heartbreaker kind of way. Mutant. Ringin’ any bells?

That’s right. I’m referring to the one, the only: James Logan.
More commonly known as Wolverine.

Fourth in the mutant saga, on May 1st the new X-Men film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, will take viewers back in time to Logan’s pre- X-Men days, explaining how he came to be known as Wolverine.

As children of the 1850s, immortal Logan and brother, Creed, leave home after killing their biological father. They are recruited by William Stryker and serve for a while in his unit of mutants. Eventually the fighting becomes too much for Logan and he parts ways with the group.

Six years later…

The claws come out when Logan discovers that Victor has slain his mate, the lovely Silver Fox; he sets out to find avenge her death, accept Stryker’s offer of participate in the Weapon X project, which involves an infusion that will make Logan ultimately indestructible. Once changed, Logan goes off on his own in search of Victor, wanting to destroy his brother, punish him before someone else gets the chance. While on this journey, he makes a vital discovery—one that won't only affect his own existence, but the existence of all others of his kind.

Packed with action, newly-discovered powers, and plenty of shirtless Hugh Jackman scenes and as an added bonus, a fantastic new crew of mutants—including Sabertooth, Gambit, Agent Zero, and the infamous Weapon XI—this is one X-Men movie you do not want to miss.
