Daily Good Gossip

Miranda Lambert's Exclusive New Song!
Miranda Lambert's new country trio, Pistol Annies, were on a hot streak right out of the gate with its debut single this May, and now Lambert and her fellow Annies -- Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley -- are about to release their debut album "Hell On Heels" on Tuesday (Aug. 23). But you won't have to wait until then to hear more of it: we're exclusively premiering one of the tracks, "Boys From The South," right now right here.

"I started thinking about how Southern boys just have a certain charm about them," Miranda Lambert says of the inspiration behind the song. "It's one of our favorite songs on the album. Every time I play it live anywhere, especially below the Mason-Dixon, people love it."

Lambert says she feels she's "made a niche for myself in my solo career as a little bit of a rocker chick," so she was glad to get back to her more Country side with Pistol Annies. "With this project my country roots really come out. There are three country girls who are writing about real life situations. We'll all from different places in the South but we all come from the same background."

If you're sensing that the female perspective is central to Pistol Annies, you aren't mistaken. "It's [about] just real issues that women deal with," Lambert explains. "Our theme, through my music and through Pistol Annies is empowering women and talking about things that no one is actually saying. It definitely comes from experiences we've all had."

Lambert says fans can expect to see the Annies on the road. "We're excited to start doing our on shows and not where it's just Miranda Lambert," She says. "Part of being in a band is that all the pressure isn't on just you. We really are just three girl friends having a blast."
