Celebs Supporting Our Troops
It's Fleet Week in New York and Memorial Day is just around the corner. These celebs aren't forgetting about our country's defenders. They're giving back to troops in a big way.
Katy Perry
The pop diva made each member of the sea feel like a 'Firework' by putting on an exclusive concert last night. She even chose one lucky service-member to help her reenact the iconic WWII sailor's kiss in Times Square. "I think if anyone deserves a party...it's probably the people in service,” said Perry. “They are the ones that are actually deployed and protecting us from all the bad guys, and they deserve to celebrate, and they deserve to be celebrated."
Tim McGraw
This country crooner is donating 25 mortgage-free houses to wounded service members (we told you they were helping in a BIG way). He will be distributing the homes to service members during his upcoming “Brothers of the Sun” tour. He's also starting off his campaign by performing a Memorial Day concert for military members.
Prince Harry
A longtime supporter of both British and American troops, Prince Harry was awarded with the Atlantic Council’s 2012 Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership earlier this month. Harry has made sure to include helping the troops as part of the efforts of his Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. “The very least we owe them is to make sure that they and their brave families have everything they need through the darkest days – and, in time, regain the hope and confidence to flourish again,” said Harry.
What Can You Do?
Check out ways you can support our troops.
