Go To College for Free!

There is a program that must be passed by our elected officials. The program is called Service Pays and it lets you earn around $13,000 each year for doing things like helping rebuild cities after natural disasters and teaching in inner-city schools. You know volunteering.!! That is what we are all about. We are always encouraging you to volunteer and if you are able to give back and earn money to pay back your college loans, isn't that a great idea??? Can't argue with this. This is what we need to do to pass this program. We need your help in writing to your senators and representatives. You can copy the following letter that we found at CosmoGirl and send your letters. We want to take another step, if you would like to see this pass, please leave a comment here and we will be putting together a bigger campaign to get National Recognition to pass this program. We need your support. Even if you are not in college yet, you need to help pass this program to help all of us, because when we get out of college we are going to be in a log of debt. Please help us...we want to get this to McCain and Obama as well. To find your elected officials go to www.usa.gov.

Here is the letter to write to your Congress Representatives, Senators, and Local Representatives:

Dear (name of your elected official):

I'm (age) years old, and a (your grade of year in school) at (name of school). I'm concerned about the rising cost of college tuition and fees, and I'm worried about my ability to pay off my school loans-especially if I pursue work in a low-paying field. That's why I urge you to support the Service Pays program.

Service Pays encourages students like me to commit to four years of public service immediately after college graduation. In exchange, the government would forgive our loans up to $13,000 each year, the average tuition at a public school. You can read more the program at: http://www.hlpronline.com/Vol1No1/warren.pdf.

High youth voter turnout in 2008 proves that my generation can make a difference. So please commit to this important program that will determine our future.

Sincerely,
(your name and address, including city and state, and your email address)

We all need this to pass to please leave a comment here to pass Service Pays and send your letters.
