More Music Mania

Hey everyone! Hope all of you are having a good weekend so far! As promised, I will share with you some details from the Jonas Brothers concert that I attended in Houston last night! I know not all of you are JB fans, so I will try my best not to write a novel about it, but I would at least like to share with you the songs they played and their opening acts, Honor Society and the Wonder Girls, played as well (Jordin Sparks wasn't able to perform last night due to sickness :( Get better soon Jordin!!). If you would like to hear all of the details from last night's concert, I will post a link to my personal blog on next week's entry so stay tuned! :)

Okay, before the concert, while we were all sitting in the venue, they played songs to keep us company and although my memory is a bit fogged, I will try my best to list the songs they played pre-concert.

Beat It-Michael Jackson
Single Ladies-Beyonce
Boom boom pow-Black Eyed Peas
My life would suck without you-Kelly Clarkson
La La Land-Demi Lovato

And many more!

Honor Society performed first. The songs they performed included:
Over You
Nobody Has To Know
See You In The Dark
Two Rebels
Full Moon Crazy
And their newest--Sing for you

Also mark your calendars! Honor Society will be releasing their first album Fashionably Late on September 15th. Don't forget to check out your nearest Wal Mart or music store to pick it up! Or...you can pre-order their album here! http://www.honorsocietymerch.com/

The Wonder Girls performed next. Just a little background info...
-They are considered Asia's biggest superstars
-They are a Korean band consisting of 5 teenage girls (Yubin, Sohee, Sun, Mimi, and Yenny)
-They have had 3 number 1 hit songs in Asia within the past 2 years!
-Their first US single is "Nobody" (which I will admit is extremely catchy! You can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA7fdSkp8ds) They performed "Nobody" as well as a song called "Tell Me"

For more info on the Wonder Girls, you can check out www.wondergirlsworld.com

Next up, was *drum roll please* The Jonas Brothers of course! :)
Their entrance song? We will rock you-Queen and Paranoid--the first JB song of the night!

Other songs they performed included:

That’s just the way we roll
Live to party
Much better
Sweet Caroline (Neil Diamond cover)
I gotta feeling (Black Eyed Peas cover)
Tonight
Lovebug
A Little Bit Longer/Black Keys
Year 3000
When you look me in the eyes
Fly with me
World War III
Play my music
Gotta find you
Poison Ivy
Turn Right
Hold on
BB good
SOS
Lovebug

And they ended with--Burning up

Overall, the concert was amazing and definitely one of the best nights of my life! I went with my little sister (it was her 1st concert) and we both had a ton of fun! Those Jonas boys definitely know how to put on a good show! :)

Also, speaking of the Jonas Brothers, today is Joe Jonas' 20th birthday, as well as his parents' (Kevin Jonas Sr. and Denise Jonas) anniversary! Yes, Joe was born on his parents' anniversary....who wouldn't want Joe Jonas as an anniversary gift? ;-) Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Jonas and happy birthday Joe!

Also, this week marked Woodstock's 40th anniversary!

We lost yet another legend...RIP Les Paul :'(

"The rock 'n' roll world sadly lost a major icon this week, when Les Paul--legendary guitarist and inventor of both the solid-body electric guitar and the concept of "multi-tracking" in the recording studio--passed away from pneumonia at age 94. Les's contributions to rock music were immeasurable, and so it was not surprising that guitarists of all genres and generations immediately paid tribute to the man upon hearing this deflating news."

And lastly, Mariah Carey's newest album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel, was originally scheduled for to be released August 25, then switched to September 15, and now has been re-scheduled again to September 29th. If it changes again, I'll let you know, but we hope Mariah works everything out soon!

Alright, that's all for today, sorry for the lengthy novel!

I'll catch you guys next week, but until then, have a great week! :)

-Labanya
