Albert Pujols

Our favorite Los Angeles Angels player couldn’t have said it any better. Albert Pujols may have been a little slow to get off of first, but he’s rounding those bases now. Regardless, we love him because he hits a celeb gone good homer every time.
The 32-year-old, along with his family, immigrated to the US (from the Dominican Republic) in the early 1990s. Pujols credits baseball as the tool that helped him transition to life in America. He didn't let his family's lack of money or the fact that he knew very little English stop him from achieving his dream. (He also had a hell of a lot of determination.)
From the work of the Pujols Family Foundation, which looks to improve the lives of impoverished families in the Dominican Republic. To the aid he gives Americans living with Down Syndrome—Pujols lights the field on fire with his good deeds.
What Can You Do?
- Terms about learning disabilities.
- Host a charitable basketball game and raise awareness and funds about this issue.
- Make cause buttons and hand them out at your school.
