Mariposa's Connections: The Long Distance

You've probably heard the saying, "Side by side or miles apart, friends are forever close to the heart." But is it as easy as it sounds - being miles apart and close to the heart? Probably not: long distance relationships take work, although, in the end, we can come out of them with more understanding of the other person. Anyways, I came up with some popular ideas for keeping relationships alive despite the miles apart:

- Call/e-mail/communicate with each other often. Sharing the little everyday stuff is so important & it shows you care.

- Send care packages. You could send photos, music, or even cookies ;)

- Visit when you can. And when you do visit, do something fun and exciting.

- Use webcams/Skpe to personalize communication.

- Don't let the other person forget what he/she means to you.

- And lastly, my personal favorite: share a blog.

Sharing a blog sounds great! I'll keep that in mind if I ever have a long-distance relationship. :)
