Teen/Tween Celebs that Make a Difference!
By Hannah and Cailin Loesch
Hello everyone! We hope that you all had a great week!
We know that everyone is back to school now, and right back to the studying, homework, and afterschool activities. It is hard to get back into the swing of things- even for us! Hoping that you can still can find a way to give back in some way. We are planning an Alex’s Lemonade Stand for pediatric cancer in a few weeks. Visit http://www.alexslemonade.org if you’re interested! Every school day 46 children are diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer? You can make a difference!
This week we are featuring an amazing young tween (almost teen) that you are sure to know! Aria Wallace!
You may know her from the Nickelodeon Roxy Hunter movies where she played the main character “Roxy”, and also sings! She is a huge talent! She has been on The Bernie Mac Show, That 70’s Show, Judging Amy, and much more!
You might wonder how she finds the time to do anything with a schedule like hers! “I do my best to give back as much as I possibly can!” states Aria
Aria is a StarPower Ambassador for the Starlight Children’s foundation. This foundation helps improve the quality of life for children with chronic and life threatening diseases. When you are healthy it is easy to take things for granted, but when you are diagnosed with a serious illness, your life is seriously changed. All the things that used to make you happy are gone, and you are left with dealing with hospitals, and treatments! Not much fun right?
Starlight offers programs to get the kids minds off of their everyday pain, and brings them together with other kids and families going through the same thing. All kinds of activities and programs to bring more joy into their lives! Aria loves bringing a smile to their faces, and that ALWAYS brings a smile to hers! For more information about this wonderful organization check out http://www.starlight.org
She is also involved with an organization called “Temptation of a Generation” which is a series of books, and a show about cyber- bullying. With so many kids on the computer today it is an important thing for kids to learn. It is a huge problem because people feel that because people cannot see them, or know who they really are, they are not responsible for what they say on the internet. This is just not true! You are responsible for your words and actions at all times! Bullying is wrong in any form! Aria hopes that by being involved in this program it will help stop the bullying! Go Aria!
Aria is very involved in her church where they do many things to give back to the community. They have a program called “Stephens Storehouse” where they package food and other necessities for people in need in her community. Her church has a youth pastor who speaks to about 220 kids grades 7-12 every Weds. Night and Sun. morning about what God can do in their lives. This gives them a safe place to come and spend time with other kids their age who have the same beliefs and values that they do! Faith makes a difference in peoples lives! To find out more about this program, check out http://thesanctuarychurch.com
Whew! Aria really keeps herself busy doesn’t she? And there is more! She also is involved with our own http://www.dekoposh.com with their Jeans Bring Dreams mission! They auction off celebrity signed jeans for Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA. She signed and stated her dream on her own personal pair of jeans to auction off! The proceeds all went to the hospital to help the children. Aria is an amazing singer, so it will not surprise you that she is also using this talent to help others! She will be singing in the Jeans Bring Dreams concert series starting in Oct. To find out more about this, and when and where you can attend the concerts please check out: http://www.jeansbringdreams.com
Being in the industry she is, Aria feels so blessed and feels it is important to give back as much as she has received. She sure is doing that! We are wondering if she takes the time to sleep LOL! She learned the importance of giving from her mom. Watching her being involved in many charities inspired Aria to do the same. She believes you should always make it a priority to give back in your life. She said “We can always try our best to make this world we live in a better place, together!”
When asked what is her favorite thing about what she does, she replied. “I love to entertain people- whether it is singing or acting” She loves the feeling of getting up on stage to perform. By writing her own music she can write inspirational songs that can inspire people to believe in themselves, and follow their dreams! She loves playing all sorts of different characters, getting to imagine and create whole other worlds within the characters she plays. The way she likes to see it, in the words of the famous Oscar Wilde
“I love acting. It is so much more than real life!”
We were blown away by what Aria does to make a difference! We all can learn something from her for sure! We thank her for taking the time to answer our questions! That is a lot of exclamation points, but wow! Does she deserve it!!!
We hope you enjoyed this weeks “Celeb that Makes a Difference” Aria Wallace ROCKS!
Keep it Real
