One Pimple is One Too Many - Giving Back
How are you? Staying warm I hope? Normally I wouldn't include myself in that equation but what do you know -- SNOW came to Texas this past week! How crazy is that!
Today I want to talk about giving back -- to your family, friends, the community and to yourself.
If you can't return a favor, pass it on. - Louise Brown
Never underestimate what a smile, a hug or a kind word can do -- sometimes that's all the gift someone needs.
Giving Back to:
Your Family & Friends:
Other things may change us but we start and end with family. - Anthony Brandt
Did you say it? I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life. Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it. But every now and then, look around. Drink it in. Cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow. - Meredith Grey "Grey's Anatomy"
Everyone has family. Whether it is those you were born to, those you were adopted into or the family you choose: we all have those that we consider close to our heart. Take time out this holiday season to show your appreciation to them. Tell your mom how much you love her cooking. Ask your dad about his favorite hobby. Play with your little brothers and sisters. Talk to your friends about their dreams, hopes and their day to day lives. Everyone wants to be heard. Listen to them. Cherish them. Show love. You never know when it could be gone.
The Community:
Some people go through life trying to find out what the world holds for them only to find out too late that it's what they bring to the world that really counts. - Anne of Green Gables
Regardless of everyone's race, religion, beliefs, age, gender, etc., we all have one thing in common. We are human. Give back to your fellow man or woman by volunteering at a local shelter or soup kitchen. Look into helping out the children's department of your local hospital. Ask your neighbors if they need any help around the house. Nothing can replace that feeling of giving back to someone who can't return the favor. Find three people this week who can't repay you in any way and help them. ((AS A NOTE: Be sure to NEVER do anything without your parents permission. Your safety is the first priority!))
Yourself:
You are not too old. You are not too young. You are not too poor. You are not too sick. You are not any of the things that stop you from doing what must be done. You are right here. You, are just right. - Please Find This
Cherish and value yourself just as much as you cherish and value others. You are an amazing, beautiful//handsome, smart peculiar treasure! Wake up every day thinking of how awesome you are! It's not cocky -- it's confidence. We all have things we'd like to change about our appearance but that shouldn't be your main focus! Look at all the things that make you special and unique! There's no one else in the world quite like you!
Every time is the right time so make every second count. Go for your dream; you can live it! Reach for the sky, there's no limit! Celebrate what you're all about! It's the time of your life! You don't want to miss out on right here and now! There's so many reasons why -- you don't want to stop! Here's your chance, live it up! In everything you do, celebrate you. - "Celebrate You" by Corbin Bleu
Let's all celebrate everyone!
