Amelia's Book Room: Criss Cross

This week's book reminds me a lot of the book I gave a lot of love a while ago, Guitar Highway Rose. They both have an interesting variation of styles within the novel. Criss Cross is about several teens living in the small town of Seldem. Debbie wants something to happen to her, something good. Hector starts taking guitar lessons, and meets Meadow, an interesting and pretty girl with stars in her eyes.

But then there's Dan Persik, who Debbie is crushing on, and he's interested in Meadow. Lenny likes to learn about things, and work on cars and motorbikes. He, Debbie, Phil, Hector, and Patty all begin to listen to an odd radio show called Criss Cross. I really enjoyed this book; I thought I had to turn it in to the library today, so I went from being halfway through to being done in about a day! I've said it before, but you know a book is good when I do that.

Author Lynne Rae Perkins also wrote an interesting-looking novel called All Alone In The Universe. The protagonist in that is also named Debbie, but I have yet to discover if it's the same one! I hope you liked this review; keep on reading! I'm off to go work on my NaNoWriMo...
