Daily Good Gossip

90210's Shenae Grimes Want You To Join The Hunt For Charity
90210’s Shenae Grimes has joined with DoSomething.org for a very special initiative.
“Ever wonder what it’s like to be inside a video game?” asks Shenae in a video explaining DoSomething.org’s new Hunt initiative. “Fun… but in the end, all the points don’t add up to much. Now, what if you could play a game in which what you do really counts? This summer, DoSomething.org, Lenovo and Bing are teaming up to bring you The Hunt. For 11 days, we’ll be texting you clues on how you can make a real difference in your community. Complete a mission, and you could win a brand new Ultrabook. The team with the most points has the chance to win a trip to LA for the Do Something Awards.”DoSomething.org, Lenovo and Bing are all about giving teens the resources to take action on what they care about. That’s why, for July 2012, they’ve teamed up to inspire teens to do 11 days of challenges focused on creating positive community impact.
For 11 days, they’ll send out a new series of challenges focused on a specific cause. Challenges will be issued to participants via the campaign website as well as email and, their favorite social change weapon, cell phones. Teams will work together to complete all the challenges and report back to to let DoSomething.org know how they were able to create measurable impact in their community, all while collecting points to win prizes.
WHY IT MATTERS
85% of teens in the US say they want to volunteer. Yet, only 35% of them actively do. The #1 reason why they don’t volunteer? No one asked them to. DoSomething.org is here to put out that ask, by issuing specific challenges across a variety of causes that teens care about most.
HOW IT WORKS
Teens taking action in the Scavenger Hunt will:
• Create a team of friends to participate
• Register their team at dosomething.org/hunt or by texting HUNT to 38383 to sign up via their cell phones
• Receive daily challenges from July 10th-20th around a variety of causes
• Complete the Challenges and report back on their progress to receive points and prizes
Top teams receive prizes like:
• Brand new Lenovo ultra books
• Scholarships for college
• A trip for their entire team to the Do Something Awards in Los Angeles!
