Justin Bieber: "I'm Loving and Patient" With Selena Gomez

Young love!

Justin Bieber may have just turned 18, but in a new interview with Radio Disney, he proves that he's wise beyond his brand-new "legally adult" status when it comes to knowing the key to a successful relationship.

"It's just about being honest with one another," he tells host Jake ofCelebrity Take with Jake about how he and his equally-as-famous love,Selena Gomez, maintain theirrelationship in the midst of Hollywood's stressors.

"You just have to be honest, that's the first thing, because if you're not honest, then the relationship is just not a good relationship. At the end of the day, your girl would appreciate you being honest more than lying to her and vice versa.

In her March interview with Cosmopolitan, Gomez, 19, showed that she and her beau's expectations line up with each other's. "If you're in love, you're in love to the fullest, and you just want to go to the movies, hang out, and be as normal as possible. I'm fortunate that I've found someone who has that philosophy."

Bieber and Gomez began dating in 2010 and have since been spotted packing on the PDA across the globe. In October, the Canadian crooner surprised the former Disney starlet by renting out an entire movie theater so the pair could watch Real Steel in private.

In "Boyfriend," Bieber debuts a more mature side of his musical career. The chorus of the first song off his forthcoming album, Believe, has the lyrics: "If I was your boyfriend, never let you go / Keep you on my arm girl, you'd never be alone / I can be a gentleman, anything you want / If I was your boyfriend, I'd never let you go / I'd never let you go"

Selena Gomez Blogs UNICEF Tap Project
“I don’t stop to think about clean water all that often. Like many people, it’s something I usually take for granted. I can turn on the faucet or shower at home, and out it comes.
“Sadly, this is not the case for millions of people around the world. In my travels with UNICEF I have seen the devastating impact that lack of safe water can have on children. In fact, thousands of them die every day simply because they can’t access this precious resource. Others do not have the chance to go to school because they spend hours walking each day to gather water for their families.
“The UNICEF Tap Project is a great opportunity for all of us to help change this reality. Funds raised this year will bring clean, safe drinking water to children in Vietnam, Togo, Mauritania, and Cameroon—countries where it’s desperately needed. And, just a little goes a very long way. One dollar—less than the price of a cup of coffee—can provide a child with clean drinking water for 40 days.
“There are lots of ways to get involved. During World Water Week, March 19-25, you can donate $1 or more for the tap water you would usually drink for free at restaurants all across the United States. Visit www.uniceftapproject.org to locate participating restaurants near you and find out other ways to support the UNICEF Tap Project.”

New Year, New Looks For Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez

So, it seems that both Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have decided it's time for a change.
Oh, don't worry--the supercouple is still together! The two teens just decided to switch up theirhairstyles, that's all...sorry if I upset anyone!
Justin Bieber
Bieber showed off a return to the original look he made famous--eye-skimming, swooping bangs--on Wednesday, during a visit to the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. While the change may seem subtle, it's a definite difference from the shorter look he's been sporting in past months.
Gomez, on the other hand, threw caution to the wind and went for a more dramatic transformation. While her beau was busy in Vegas, she dropped by her favorite salon in West Hollywood and added striking blue and purple extensions to her hair.
From Selena Gomez's Twitter

"Change is good," Gomez tweeted on Wednesday, along with a pic of her brightly colored locks. "LOVE."  Meanwhile, Bieber had no public comment on either his own or his gal pal's new styles.
Well, now, the verdict is up to you: Do you like Justin and Selena's new hairdos? Be sure to let us know!

Selena Gomez: What's Next
Selena Gomez will wave her magic wand one final time on January 6 when the series finale of "Wizards of Waverly Place" airs. And as she looks forward to what's next in 2012, she says one thing she won't be doing is releasing new music.

"We're going to take a break from music," Gomez told E! News. "My band and I are going to chill on that for a second. I'll be doing two films in the beginning of [2012], which I'm excited about. They are both different and things I've never played before and will be fun for me."
As she closes the door on "Wizards" for good, and on her music for now, the teen superstar says that saying goodbye to her Disney show is bittersweet. "[My fans are] definitely not [ready for it to end], according to my Twitter feed and everything else," she said. "Of course, we could stay on, but we want to move on and stuff. But the show will live on forever and we're all grateful for that. I spent more time with them than my own family. It was amazing."
But fans of the star should prepare for what's next. Gomez will shoot the darker "Spring Breakers" in early 2012 and has been rumored to be attached to a film called "Hot Mess."
For "Spring Breakers," Gomez will work with director Harmony Korine (the man behind the super-dark '90s classic "Kids"). The movie revolves around a group of college girls who rob a restaurant to pay for their spring break. After they land in jail, they become entangled with the drug and arms dealer who bailed them out. James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts are also attached to the project.
"It's a different character than I have ever played before," Gomez told MTV News about the project. "It's a different kind of vibe, I think, than people are used to seeing me in. What you're going to see is more raw, I think. It's going to be raw and more about acting."

Selena Gomez, Mac Miller Ring In The New Year On MTV
There's nothing like celebrating the new year with some friendly faces, and that's exactly what MTV did Saturday night with "NYE in NYC 2012," hosted by "Teen Wolf" star Tyler Posey and Demi Lovato.

The event lit up the Times Square studio and found Lovato herself, Selena Gomez, Mac Miller, J. Cole and Jason Derülo performing their way into 2012 in front of a sea of energetic fans.
Lovato played double duty as the clock counted down to midnight when she kicked off the star-studded performance event with her new single, "Give Your Heart a Break." Dressed in a black corset and skirt, the former Disney starlet belted out the tune, offering fans big notes and vocal runs.
"America's Best Dance Crew" winners I.aM.mE turned the stage into a dance extravaganza when they moved to the groove of LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem." Much like their choreography on the MTV dance competition, the six-member group showed off some slick moves that utilized body parts as objects. They continued to perform throughout the event to the music of Pitbull and Rihanna.
Jason Derülo turned up the dance even more when he took the stage for "It Girl" and "Don't Wanna Go Home." Surrounded by fans, the R&B star made proper use of his sideline female dancer for the first number and an entire crew of backup dancers for the following tune.
Viewers also caught a glimpse of the reboot of MTV's beloved "Punk'd."Teaser footage included pranks played on Posey and Khloé Kardashian with the help of Miley Cyrus, Kelly Osbourne and Bam Margera.
Mac Miller topped off his successful 2011 with a comedic performance of his hit single "Party on Fifth Ave," in which he recreated the tune's retro clip. Miller arrived on set with high energy and encouraged the audience to jump to their feet.
Soon after, J. Cole continued to rep for rap with "Work Out." Walking back and forth in a path made by fans, the MC spit the feel-good song as the audience simultaneously waved their hands in the air.
After some dance jams courtesy of DJ Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, "Switched at Birth" starlets Vanessa Marano and Katie Leclerc appeared in studio and took photos with fans.
Wrapping up the show was Selena Gomez, who screamed the countdown to 2012 and kicked off her first performance of the new year with a medley of "Love You Like a Love Song" and "Hit the Lights." As the audience cheered and confetti filled the air, the pop star was all smiles in her sparkly dress.
MTV News caught up with Posey backstage, where he spoke about the high-profile gig, saying, "I personally don't feel like I am at this level yet to be doing this. I feel honored, grateful and thankful."

Selena Gomez Bumps Justin Bieber From The No. 1 Spot On Social 50

Until this week, only four acts had ruled the still-young Social 50 chart: Rihanna, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. But now, we have a new No. 1 artist: Selena Gomez.
And, in an ironic twist, Gomez takes the crown by bumping her boyfriend, Justin Bieber, out of the top slot, and sends him to No. 2.
Gomez skips 5-1 this week thanks to online buzz generated by the release of her third album, "When the Sun Goes Down," on June 28.
The Social 50 ranks the most active artists on the world's leading social networking sites -- YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike -- using a formula blending weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.
What did it take for Gomez to dethrone the Biebs?
First, all of the promotion leading up to her album's release, along with the success of its single "Love You Like a Love Song" helped. The latter has already garnered 10 million views on Vevo. In addition, the July 1 premiere of her romantic comedy "Monte Carlo" didn't hurt either.

Amelia's Book Room: Ramona

As you may have heard, Selena Gomez's new movie Ramona And Beezus, came out this month. I haven't seen it yet, but I hear it's pretty good; so this week, we're going to talk about Beverly Cleary's ever-popular Ramona series!

The characters of the Ramona books were originally introduced in the Henry Huggins series, which featured Henry, his dog Ribsy, and his friend Beatrice 'Beezus' Quimby--and occasionally, her pesky little sister, Ramona. Finally, in Ramona The Pest, her own series began! We meet our favorite little pest as she is starting Kindergarten, and learn all about the quirky and mischievous adventures she gets herself into. Over the next six books, ending at Ramona's World, we go through first grade and beyond, all with lovable Ramona and her friends.

I read these books when I was little; they were one of my favorites! And you teens out there, don't be embarrassed to read these great books; no matter what age, they're still fun!

I won't be writing next week, but don't forget to start reading Carl Hiaasen's Scat for the Dekoposh Book Club in August! Happy reading, folks.

One Pimple is One Too Many - Music

Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul. - Anonymous

Music. One of the few things on earth that can connect people instantly.
What do you think of music?
What are your some of favorite bands/singers/songs?

Donna (@teddy_dunn) says her favorite song is Morning Light by Truman because:
it's so inspiring to me... it talks about how she thought her life was horrible, but now she's on top of the world...

@IsabellaAnna says she doesn't have a favorite song. When asked why she says:
I can't pinpoint a song that's my favorite just because there's so many great songs out there. They mean something different to me at different times.

Jen (@jeng2008 - & one of our column writers) says:
music defines my life. having me choose my favorite song is like asking me to pick my favorite sibling, it can't be done. i could come up with a few good choices, but just one, near impossible.

my favorite song ever would probably be "i want you to want me". i think the first time i heard it was when i first saw "10 things i hate about you"...the original with heath ledger & julia stiles...there's something about the lyrics that are just so raw, and, in my opinion, what ever girl thinks when she has a crush on a guy

I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me
And I'm begging you to beg me

I want you to want me
I need you to need me
And I'd love you to love me
in John Tucker Must Die, Kate (Brittany Snow) says (paraphrased) "why can't love be like an old pop song? "i want you to want me"...that's it..." or something along those lines, it's been awhile since i've seen the movie...it's just one of those songs that every time you hear it, you grab your hairbrush & belt out the lyrics...or at least i do. :P

favorite song right now? this is the hardest to answer because i like soooo many different songs. anything that inspires you to make a difference or be a better person is what i would say. i think that's why i like the song "Send it On" so much.(My note: Send it On is by the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato & Selena Gomez) if you really listen to it & take apart the lyrics, there's so much meaning to the song. be a better person, create a better planet...the possibilities are endless...it's like a Pay It Forward program...one act of kindness can become 2 & 2 becomes 4...all the way down the line until the one little thing that you did has created a movement without even trying...

I asked Labanya (@lalalabanya - our resident music expert) 1. Who do you think is the most popular band/singer in 2009? 2. What band/singers would you say have been the most influential and have the most staying power? 3. What traits would you say that gives them that staying power? 4. What are some of your favorite bands? 5. What is your favorite song and why?
Here's what she had to say:
Hmm..most popular band/singer. I don't know if I could choose just one. Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, and Jonas Brothers (of course :P), Coldplay are doing really well right now. I do think that all having staying power, if they play their cards right. Black Eyed Peas is another one. Most influential-again, JB, Miley Cyrus, in some ways, Demi. I think they're influential because the songs they write, a lot of people can relate to and a lot of the lyrics definitely help some get through their day, just by listening to a particular song. Jordin Sparks is someone who I can definitely has staying power. The lyrics in her songs are relatable to teens/tweens.A lot of artists also have nice personalities so, I think people can look at them, not only as an artist, but also as a friend or just someone who can empathize. Favorite bands: JB (:P, music is extremely catchy and I love their lyrics), Honor Society (same reasons), Jordin & Demi (I can definitely relate to their music), Green Day (again, relatable lyrics), Carrie Underwood, Paramore, Shakira. I'm a dancer, so I guess you could say any artists who have catchy music catch my eye lol. Favorite song? Wow, that's difficult. Um. I really love Let it Rain-Jordin Sparks. The message is beautiful...basically, don't be afraid to say what you mean and let it all out <3. Another one The Climb-Miley Cyrus. Again, I love the message. And 1 more, Black Keys. That one definitely helps me get through my toughest days and sometimes, I almost feel like it was written for me.

Personally,
My favorite band is Switchfoot. They're one of the few bands that I will purchase the entire album without having listened to any of the songs before. However, my favorite song is Fix You by Coldplay. (It is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful, touching songs I've ever heard. If you've never heard it before, take a listen) I couldn't possibly name all of the bands that I consider amazing (or the songs) but usually what I'm listening to now can be found on my blog's playlist.

What does music mean to you? What are some of your favorite bands/artists? How about the questions I asked Labanya? What would your have been?

Remember:
The music is all around you, all you have to do is listen. - August Rush

Have a happy Monday,

Hey my Posh BFF's...

So much to tell you today, I am People Watching so many celebrities..

Bristol Palin splits with Levi Johnston. I think we all saw that coming. I mean they have never tied the knot...SUP!!

Elle Fanning is going to be on The Ellen Show tomorrow, Friday!! Love here-she is a cutie pie.

Oprah warns Rihanna, "He will hit you again." Poor RiRi---my heart goes out to her. I am so torn by this mess. My favorite singer was Chris Brown and now I can't even listen to his music. Very Sad.

David Henrie gets a kiss from Selena Gomez on the set of Wizards and Waverly Place in Puerto Rico. Perez is trying to find out if David and Selena are a item, oh Perez mind your own biz. You know what I mean?

Robert Pattinson is on the cover of GQ Magazine for April 2009 issue...my boy is looking very hot! Sorry Deko.

Jonas Brothers launch clothing line for not boys but girls at Walmart, Sears, Kmart, and JcPenny. I don't know about you but I was a little upset about this news. We don't need more girl clothes, we need all these boys to start dressing like the JoBros. What is up what that? Weight in please, I am lost with this news.

Jordan Pruitt is going to a Prom with one of her guy friends. She is so very excited, she never thought she would go to a Prom because she is home schooled.

That's it for now...that is your People Watching Celeb Fix!!!

Wish me luck...going camping with the team this weekend---I am so scared. They told me no heels, or cute clothes...this is so not me. I hate bugs, I hate being cold, and I will hate if my Blackberry does not work. Let's hope for everyone's sake that I can still use my Blackberry!!! Happy thoughts for me, pleeeeease.
